2020

Our second edition of Fun for Kids was held at Alajo, a suburb of Accra, in the year 2020. We brought together Alajo, Nima, Mamobi, Kotobabi and Newtown. We organized a community football tournament for the children in the community. We had four communities (100 reps per a community) teams participating in the tournament. We organized to get some community leaders and professional footballers to attend the event. Each team was given a certificate of participation and stand-out performers and teams were awarded accordingly. Some of these community leaders and footballers spoke with the children and shared their experiences with them while highlighting the need to stay in school and be educated. We gave out educational material to the beneficiaries to encourage them in their education. Again, there were no external sponsors for this project. 600 children benefited in total. Funding for this project was raised by the CEO and voluntary contributions from members. It was a successful project all around.

2017

It was identified that most needy children in society lacked the empathy and love shared amongst families during Christmas. School usually resumes just after the Christmas holidays when their parents lacked funds to get them ready for school. As an organization sought to change that narrative as we do firm believers in every child deserve love and access to education? In 2017, the first project was undertaken by the foundation in Sakumono Estate were we brought together 5 communities for a fun educational project. We brought together Nungua, Teshie agbleza, Lashibi, Sakumono and Lekma The aim was to organize a football tournament involving 5 communities and to share school supplies such as books, pencils, erasers, and school bags amongst others to these vulnerable ones and give them some counselling and guidance for their academic year ahead. This program was funded by our CEO and individual contributions from volunteers. We organised the tournament and gave the children refreshments and some educational materials. The project was 85% successful based on the KPIs set for the project. However, if funding was available, more would have been done. Again, media coverage of the event was lost and could not be retrieved and a proper report was not prepared for the project. 560 children benefited from this program
